Paying it Forward and Saving More Lives
Stryker Corporation, the parent company of HeartSine and Physio-Control, both automated external defibrillator (AED) manufacturers, has an amazing program for the survivors of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) called Forward Hearts.
Forward Hearts allows SCA survivors to “pay it forward”, with the potential to save additional lives, by donating an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to the organization of the survivor’s choice.
When a HeartSine Samaritan PAD, LIFEPAK CR Plus or LIFEPAK Express AED is used to save a life, the survivor chooses an organization that will receive the donated AED.
The survivor can choose to make their donation to the organization anonymous or to be part of a public announcement.
AED USA is committed to increasing the awareness and availability of AEDs with the goal of every community and organization in the United States being able to save SCA victims. We are proud to partner with Stryker and be part of the Forward Hearts program.
If you have a Forward Hearts story or know of someone who survived sudden cardiac arrest, and one of the above mentioned AEDs was used, please reach out and share your story with us.
The donation of a defibrillator through the Forward Hearts program changes lives and offers this lifesaving technology to more people, offering SCA victims a better chance of survival and spreading awareness.
* Forward Hearts is available to survivors saved out of hospital in a workplace or community setting by a layperson rescuer. Other exclusions apply. Please contact AEDUSA for more information.
